Product News: Expanded MCP Tools and AI Connectors

Since Logspot came to Claude and ChatGPT, your assistant can do a lot more with your data, and connecting one is easier. Everything for reaching your data outside the dashboard lives in one place: Integrations → AI & API Access.

More MCP Tools

The read tools now cover journeys, groups, and the actions catalog alongside events, funnels, retention, revenue, companies, and profiles. Owners and admins can also turn on Make changes on your behalf to let the assistant create a target account, update or build a company profile, and create or run an action.

Easy Setup for Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor

The AI Assistants (MCP) tab has a setup path for each client:

  • Claude: add Logspot as a custom connector in Claude or Claude Desktop, or copy one command for Claude Code
  • ChatGPT: add a connector in developer mode, or copy one command for Codex
  • Cursor: click Add to Cursor
  • Other: any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP, such as VS Code, Windsurf, and Gemini CLI, connects with the server URL

Every path signs in with your Logspot account, so there's no key to paste. New to Logspot? Approving the connection walks you through sign-up and back to your assistant.

API Tokens With Scopes

Create a token under API Keys & OAuth and choose its scopes, such as events:write and identities:write for sending data, or analytics:read and revenue:read for reading it. Read tokens open up the analytics, companies, revenue, and identities you see in the dashboard. A token is shown once, can be scoped to one project or the whole organization, and can be revoked at any time.

curl https://api.logspot.io/v1/track \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer sk_a1b2c3d4e5f6" \
  -d '{"name": "Signup Completed", "user_id": "user_123"}'

OAuth Clients for Backend Services

A backend service that shouldn't hold a long-lived secret can use an OAuth client. It exchanges its client ID and secret for short-lived access tokens with the standard client_credentials grant:

curl https://api.logspot.io/api/auth/oauth2/token \
  -u "$LOGSPOT_CLIENT_ID:$LOGSPOT_CLIENT_SECRET" \
  -d grant_type=client_credentials \
  -d scope="analytics:read events:read" \
  -d resource=https://api.logspot.io/v1

A client can only request scopes it was created with, and rotating its secret invalidates the old one immediately.

Every Connection in One Place

Integrations → AI & API Access has two tabs. API Keys & OAuth holds your tokens and OAuth clients. AI Assistants (MCP) lists every assistant you've authorized, with the scopes it holds, when it connected, and when it was last active, and Revoke Access removes a connection.
